NITTY SINGH

A pioneering tennis entrepreneur, Nitty Singh became the first woman to serve as tournament director of an ATP Tour event in 1987 when she ran the OTB Open, a popular US Open warm-up tournament in Schenectady, NY. Under Singh’s leadership, the tournament was the only free-to-the-public tournament on either tour.

Nitty Singh is the final of six 2024 Hall of Fame Inductees that were announced this week.

2025 INDUCTEE

Jeff Miller

Jeff Miller was a Top 10-ranked junior at the national level who won the Orange Bowl International Championship and Canadian Nationals and served as a member of the United States Junior Davis Cup Team. Miller went on to play at the University of Michigan, where he competed in the NCAA tournament and won the Big Ten Championships. Since 1992, Miller has served as the owner of Little Silver Tennis Club in Monmouth County, N.J.

INITIATIVES

YOUTH TENNIS

Tennis is easy to learn and tailored for all ages and abilities, giving kids a game that will help them build friendships and learn skills they’ll use for life. The USTA offers 18- and-under youth tennis programs and support from clinics to playing on a tennis team to competitive junior tournaments.

ADAPTIVE TENNIS

Tennis provides many benefits for youth with cognitive and physical disabilities, including hand-eye coordination, balance, mobility, strength and fitness. It builds self-confidence, relieves stress and creates a social outlet. And it's a great way for the family to stay active together.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Tennis scholarships are given to those who show great leadership, excel in school, show skill on the court and have healthy sportsmanship. JTF offers the David N. Dinkins Scholarship and the Benish Scholarship Awards.

TUTORING

For applicants who are chosen, JTF assists in covering costs for tennis training, lessons, and all other needs associated with the growth of a tennis athlete.
